Frequently Asked Questions

At Oceanviolinist, we strive to make our services as accessible as possible. With this in mind, we have answered some of the most common questions we have received from our clients in Savannah, Georgia and the surrounding areas.

How many music do I have to pick for a wedding?

Pick the ones you really like–we can pick the rest. Take note that there are as many as five pieces in wedding programs:

  1. Seating of the Mothers
  2. Bridesmaids
  3. Bride’s Processional
  4. Candle Lighting
  5. Recessional

When should I book my date?

We understand that having beautiful music is important for your special day, so we encourage you to reserve your musician(s) as soon as you know the exact date of your wedding or event. In some cases, we accept reservations more than a year in advance.

Will the musicians need to come to my rehearsal?

We do not need to go to the dress rehearsal. However, if you need us for the dress rehearsal, we can definitely go. In cases such as these, an additional fee is usually charged.

When does the prelude music start?

The prelude music generally begins 10 to 15 minutes before the ceremony, when the guests start arriving.

How far in advance will you need my music selections?

We will need your music selections approximately one month prior to your ceremony.

Will the musicians need processional cues?

Yes, it is important that somebody is able to provide our musicians with cues as each party of your procession is ready to begin walking.

Can I make special requests for something not on the list?

Yes. If there is more than one instrument, the sheet music could cost extra.

Do I need to make a deposit?

Yes, it is the only way to make it official and reserve the date. A half of the total amount should be paid to us before we send you the contract for your event.

How about the final payment?

The balance can be mailed to us a week before the wedding.
